Welcome to the Laughing Light Weavers Blog!
We are extremely happy to be preparing for the second annual Soul Fest, and we hope to see each of you there with us. The Fest is about sharing ideas and love in a gentle open air environment, and the more who come, the more light we will have to exchange! We celebrate out-of-the-box, non-judgmental thinking from those of all denominations and paths of spiritual thinking.
Our first Soul Fest was only open to women, but we are changing that restriction and hope to have men join in the ranks of visitors this year! Unfortunately, we do not have babysitting services available, so please consider this if you chose to bring family.
At this time, we are busy arranging for the Fest. A section will soon be added to this blogspot which will contain a map to the location, a list of events and activities, and a more detailed description of what you can expect if you chose to join us on May 14th. Essentially, we are planning for five hours of instructional/participatory events, interrupted by a lavish pot luck lunch.
The events scheduled at this time include reflexology, Native American dancing, work with a sacred labyrinth, remote sensing, crystals, and aromatherapy. In addition, we will have several vendors as well as practitioners available to do Intuitive tarot and numerology on a free, private basis.
We are asking only for a Love Offering to cover expenses. Please bring your own light-weight lawn chair, plenty of water (water will be available for $.50/bottle), and a dish for the pot luck.
Please bring a friend, a spouse, or just yourself. Just come and join us!
Please come back in a few days to check for more details. Thanks so much!

We Welcome All
Our purpose is to hold the light of spirit, to spread its serenity, peace, and power.
We are united in belief that spirit, in whatever form we envision or name it, is more intrinsic to each of us than the physical bodies we wear. That spirit, through many means, can be explored and known. We are joined, in light and love, in a desire to expand awareness of the soul in ourselves and others.

Request for Opinions on the 2010 Soul Fest
All of us in the Laughing Moon Light Weavers are excited about putting on our second Soul Fest. We want to make it as enjoyable and interesting as possible, and for that to happen, we need your help! Would you consider giving us your opinions?
Many of our Soul Fest attendees this past July were deeply interested in alternative healing, and we will again have reiki, reflexology, and crystal use sessions. In addition we will be adding a labyrinth, numerology readings, and Native American dancing to this year’s roster of activities. Certain other programs are being revised, but all should prove to be entertaining and informative.

Last year’s Fest was our first attempt to host such an affair. Although we feel it was a great success, we learned a lot in the process and hope to make this year’s event even better. One way we can improve the event is through feedback from last year’s participants.
We invite you to respond with comments to this blog, telling us what you would like to see at the celebration in May. If you attended the July 2010 Soul Fest in Joplin, please give us your opinion of what worked for you and what didn’t. The pot luck lunch? A particular session? Something about the surrounds or your interactions with members of our group or those giving lectures? Please do not hesitate to tell us what you think. We already realize that the heat was uncomfortable, and the spring date for 2011 was chosen as a result.
We would also like to know what would most interest you in future Fests. Is there some particular activity, teaching, or exercise you would like to see? We still have time to try to round up teachers. Please let us know what would interest you most. We invite all suggestions, whether you attended last year’s Fest or not.
Thanks so much!
In love and light,
Linda Martin
Introduction to the Laughing Moom Light Weavers
The members of the Laughing Moon Light Weavers have found each other slowly over the past year and a half. A certain core group extends its friendships back much farther; these early explorers in alternative health practices and out-of-the-box spirituality drew in others – new friends and family with newly-opened curiosity. The group is now held, loosely and with all free will, by the attractive pull of like interests and common energies.
Some of us are church goers; most are not. Some have greatest allegiance to the precepts of their Native American ancestors. Many of us find no “home” in any organized paradigm, while others are happiest combining beliefs from multiple thought structures. It doesn’t matter. With mutual respect, we are all joined in the belief that we are spirits experiencing all the joys and heartaches of physical life while still tied inextricably into the fabric of a much, much, much greater Source. You can give Source whatever name you will; we would all agree that it’s true essence is light and love.
The LMLW started primarily as a Reiki share, with three trained practitioners and several others willing to participate. This is still our primary monthly event. There is simply nothing to compare with the happy support, sharing, and release we all experience during these sessions. Recently we have also been experimenting with once-a-month exploratory meetings that enable us to look more closely at specific aspects of metaphysical thought. Our schedules are busy; in addition we meet regularly to plan for the 2011 Soul Fest.
This blog site is intended to share word with others in the Joplin area who might be interested our 2011 Soul Fest. In addition, we would like to open up a forum for people in the area to express ideas on spirituality that might not fit well into more traditional belief systems. To that purpose, our various members will be posting periodic articles on matters that interest them most. Please feel free to comment on any writings. We very much want to hear from you!
Thanks so much!
In love and light,
Linda M., Deborah, Linda S., Cathy, Janice, Carol, Donna, and Ocean
