Our purpose is to hold the light of spirit, to spread its serenity, peace, and power.

We Welcome All

Our purpose is to hold the light of spirit, to spread its serenity, peace, and power.

We are united in belief that spirit, in whatever form we envision or name it, is more intrinsic to each of us than the physical bodies we wear. That spirit, through many means, can be explored and known. We are joined, in light and love, in a desire to expand awareness of the soul in ourselves and others.

Awesome Eye-opening Books

              Science and Spirituality

If we just slow down and pay attention, we need no “proof” to know that we are each a soul inhabiting a physical body, or, if you’d rather be more technical – a field of consciousness temporarily invested in solidified energy.  However, a growing body of scientific information also backs our personal experiences and understanding.  Scientific research as well as the hard statistics that back it clearly show that we are far more than we allow in our normally limited thinking.  The following resources outline some of the more outstanding mind-blowing aspects of current findings:

1.  The Field, 2008.  Lynne McTaggart.  HarperCollins, N.Y., N.Y.
2.  The Intention Experiment, 2007.  Lynne McTaggart.  Free Press, N.Y., N.Y.
These books are must-reads if you want to know what scientific research supports in the field of psychic and remote energy.  These are written in a style to appeal to a general public.

3.  The Conscious Universe: The Scientific Truth of Psychic Phenomena, 1997.  Dean Radin, Ph.D.  HarperCollins, Pub., N.Y., N.Y.
4.  Entangled Minds:  Extrasensory Experiences in a Quantum Reality, 2006.  Dean Raidin, Ph.D.  Simon and Schuster, N.Y., N.Y.
These two books are thoroughly scientific summaries of the experimentation and statistical evidence that supports human capabilities beyond those allowed by the material world alone.  Despite their material, they are not difficult reading.

5.  Power vs. Force, 2002. David R. Hawkins, MD, Ph.D.  Hay House, Inc., Carlsbad, Ca.
This book explores energy and consciousness through the use of kinesiology, or muscle testing.  With kinesiology, the body’s energy field gives clear yes-or-no information.  Parts of the book are dry, but the import of the message is riveting.

6.  The Biology of Belief, 2005. Bruce H. Lipton, Ph.D. Hay House, Inc., Carlsbad, Ca.  (or the longer book The Wisdom of Your Cells by the same author).  Biologist Dr. Lipton provides information on epigenetics, the study of the factors, beginning with our thoughts, that control the expression of DNA in our cells.

7.  The Self-Aware Universe: How Consciousness Creates the Material World, 1995.    Amit Goswami, Ph.D.  Jeremy P. Tarcher/Putnam, N.Y., N.Y.
8.  Physics of the Soul, 2001.  Amit Goswami, Ph.D., Hampton Roads Pub. Co., Inc, Charlottesville, Va.  Goswami is one of a significant number of physicists who believe that quantum physics shows that our underlying reality is much different from the outward form we take for granted.  These and the many other books written by Goswami are a good starting point in an understanding of the interplay between quantum physics and spirituality.

9.  What the Bleep Do We Know?  Discovering the Endless Possibilities for Altering Your Everyday Reality, 2003.  William Arntz, Betsy Chasse, and Mark Vicente.  Health Communications, Inc., Deerfield, Beach, Fl.  This is the book form of the truly marvelous movie by the same title.  If you haven’t seen the movie, get on Netflix and rent it!  There is a tremendous amount of science in it, disguised within a story about a woman who finds that reality is in her mind.

10.  Limitless Mind, 2004.  Russell Targ.  New World Library, Novato, Ca.  This scientist describes the scientific research done on remote sensing by multiple US universities.  He also gives information as to when and where intuitive faculties have been shown to be most effective during experimentation.  Written for the general public.

11.  The Science of Premonitions, 2009.  Larry Dossey, M.D. Plume.  London, England.
This book summarizes the evidence for precognition, citing examples and speculating on the reality of a universal consciousness that could explain such findings.  The book, written in an easy style, is extensively footnoted for those desiring to read further.

The preceding books are a mere sample of what’s available in the area of spirituality and science right now.  These particular writers, however, tend to represent the best.  They all stick to good reporting that is straightforward and unbiased, presenting the facts squarely so that the facts point to the conclusion and not the other way around.  Those newly interested in non-religious spirituality tend to get sucked into areas of the field that are exciting and interesting.  A lot of nonsense can go along with it.  Keeping one foot on the floor, with a firm attachment to the physical reality of science, is a very good way to stay balanced and on the right track.
